StateSense

Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2025

The short version

StateSense does not collect, transmit, or store any of your code, file contents, or personal data on any server. Everything stays on your machine. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no tracking.

What data we process

The VS Code extension stores snapshots of your workspace files in VS Code's local globalStorageUri folder on your computer. This data never leaves your machine. It is never uploaded, synced, or shared.

The marketing website (statesense.dev) uses Vercel's default server-side request logging (IP address and user agent) only. No cookies are set without consent.

Stripe payments

If you purchase a Premium subscription, your payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number. We receive only a Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and email address needed to manage your subscription.

Email address

If you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us via email, we store your email address to send you the communications you requested. You can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell or share your email address.

Analytics

The website may use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. Plausible or Vercel Analytics). These tools do not use cookies and do not collect personally identifiable information.

Data retention

Snapshot data exists only on your machine and is deleted when you clear snapshots or uninstall the extension. Stripe subscription data is retained as required by Stripe's policies and applicable law.
